Many of Gevalia’s coffee makers use cone filters. You can buy one time use, paper filters in large quantities or use permanent, gold tone filters. As to which is better, that’s strictly a matter of preference. With the gold tone you never have to worry about running out of filters, on the other hand, you’ve got to wash it when after use, while you can just throw out the paper filters after they’ve been used.
